There are broadly speaking two categories of chatbot responses:
- traditional "intents"
- generative responses
Intents are pre-approved, which may give you some comfort in the fact that they are going to stick to a very rigid set of responses, but the downside is, they are not conversational and do not follow the flow of the conversation.
The intent rephrase feature will rephrase the pre-written intents, following the prompt you configure.
If you have a chatbot that uses pre-written intents, the intent rephrase feature allows you to keep the same intent flow, but make it more conversational, and even translate it into other languages.
How to set up chatbot Intent Rephrase
Go to the chatbot section of Talkative and click "Edit Metadata".
Enable the feature. Note - if this is enabled, all customer messages in the chatbot flow will be sent to the LLM provider specified in the dropdown menu.
Enter your prompt. Select your model. Now you're ready to go!
How will it show to customers?
The chatbot will now rephrase both the message and suggestion chips, following the prompt you've specified.
Let's pick a basic example - include an emoji in every response:
This shows as follows in the chatbot:
